Job Description: Nursery Nurse
Position: Nursery Nurse Working Hours: 40 hours per week Age Group: Children from 6 months to 4 years.
Job Summary: As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and education to children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years. Working within a nursery setting, you will create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising and engaging with children, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, and supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
1. Childcare and Supervision:
- Provide attentive care and supervision to children within the nursery.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, maintaining a secure and nurturing environment.
- Observe children to identify individual needs, interests, and developmental progress.
2. Activity Planning and Implementation:
- Plan and deliver a range of stimulating and age-appropriate activities to support children's learning and development.
- Foster creativity, curiosity, and exploration through play-based learning.
- Incorporate a variety of educational resources, including toys, books, and sensory materials, to enhance children's experiences.
3. Personal, Social, and Emotional Development:
- Promote positive behavior and social interactions among children.
- Support children in developing self-help skills, independence, and confidence.
- Foster a caring and inclusive environment, ensuring all children feel valued and respected.
4. Communication and Partnership:
- Establish effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress.
- Collaborate with other nursery staff members to ensure consistency in care and learning experiences.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
5. Health and Safety:
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Follow established procedures for administering medication, managing accidents, and handling emergencies.
- Conduct risk assessments and take appropriate measures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum qualification of a Level 3 Childcare or Early Years Education qualification.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and early years education principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and parents.
- Must have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and first aid procedures.

The role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, regulatory compliance, and effective management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for children, parents, and staff.
- Develop and implement the nursery's vision, policies, and procedures, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Supervise and support staff, conducting regular performance evaluations and offering professional development opportunities.
